Universal Islands of Adventure

The last park of our vacation was the one we were looking forward to the most.  J traded in his Coke Rewards points to get us two tickets to Universal Islands of Adventure so that we could go see the new Harry Potter area of the park.

We got there about 20 minutes before the park opened because knew that it was going to be packed.  We were surprised when they went ahead and let us into the park.  Since there wasn't really anyone there, we were able to get on a bunch of rides in Marvel Island before the park even opened.  It's very rare you can just waltz onto The Hulk.

There was a lot of people lining up to get into the Harry Potter area, so we grabbed return time tickets for 9:30am and went ahead and looked around the rest of the park.  Since most people were in line for Harry Potter the rest of the park was dead.

When 9:30am came, we were able to just waltz into Harry Potter with our return time tickets.  It was definitely the easiest way to get into that part of the park!  This area was packed though.  Don't expect to get into any ride or any of the shops quickly.

After walking around for a while, we went and bought us some butterbeer.  They have a type that is a lot like a soda and then one that is frozen.  You have to try both!  They have completely different tastes.  We found that Hogshead Brewery had like no wait, so we were able to grab our drinks in there without standing in line.

We did the walking tour of the castle which is great if you can't ride the ride for some reason.  You are able to see everything the riders do while waiting in line.

After we were done with the castle we went and finished the rest of the park.  We were able to get some pretty cool pictures with the Marvel characters.

Universal was definitely the highlight of our trip and we can't wait to go back!

  1. Why didn't you do the HP ride? I love it but Pete has never read the books so he was like "um, so what? they send us into spider land then congratulate us after? Odd ride." - Although I love Spiderman and HP land, I'm still a Disney girl... But lunch at 3 Broomsticks. Delicious.

  2. Hannah,
I started getting sick the day we were at Disney and heard that the Harry Potter ride upsets motion sickness, so I decided to stay back. Hubby went on the ride though.
