Tropical Bridal Luncheon

One of my good friend's at work got married last week and I planned a small bridal luncheon for her at work.

So funny story about how we came up with the tropical theme.  I originally planned on turquoise and sapphire colored polka dots.   Emily's boss offered to bring in all the paper products for the party.  Stupid me assumed that she would just bring in white napkins and plates.  Well, she dropped the stuff off to me the Friday before the party and there were bright colored hibiscus flowers on everything!  So, 3 days before the party, I had to completely change the theme to tropical.  In the end it worked out wonderfully and is now a great story to tell.

We had a menu of chicken ceasar salad sandwiches, little sandwich roll-ups, quiche, spinach dip, pasta salad, regular salad and fruit salad.

For drinks, I had water and a blue fruit punch.  The fruit punch was delicious!  It was made with a two-liter of Minute Maid lemonade and a huge jug of blue Hawaiian punch.  Yum!

One of my very talented co-workers made the cake.  It worked with the theme perfectly!  We were even able to send the bride home with the top tier of the cake to save for her one year anniversary (she was having a small wedding, so was only doing cupcakes at the reception).

Most of the decor was purchased from Party City.

For the centerpieces, we purchased some cylinder vases and pink fake flowers from the Dollar Tree.  We added some jasmine and greenery from the gardens outside our office.

The luncheon turned out wonderfully and the bride loved it!
