Open House

This is what my lovely state of Florida looked like on Sunday.

Even though we had a tropical storm hovering over the state, we decided to go out and look at an open house.  I'm glad we did because we fell in love!

The house is more expensive than what we have been looking at, but we had to go look at it since it's such a great deal.  It's a 5 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath house, for only $269,900.  That is a great price in this neighborhood!

The house was built in 2007 and has only had one owner.

The house has a cute rocking chair front porch.  Love the color of the door!

You walk in straight into the living room (this picture was taken from the front door).  There is a half bath and a coat closet on the right hand side of the picture.

It's a nice open floor plan with the kitchen right behind the living room towards the back of the house.  The kitchen has gorgeous cabinets with Corian countertops and stainless steel appliances.  The small island gives a little bit of extra work space.  The kitchen also has a decent size pantry next to the fridge.

One of the downsides to the house is that it doesn't have a formal dining room, just an eat-in kitchen.  I'm a little concerned about whether our table would fit in this space.

Another downside for me is that there isn't a dedicated laundry room.  There is a closet in the kitchen that holds the washer and dryer.  I would really prefer a laundry room, but it's not a deal breaker.

Also on the bottom floor is the master bedroom.  It's only 16x13, but our furniture would definitely fit in the room with space to spare.  The master also has a nice view out into the backyard.

The master bedroom has a nice walk-in closet as well as an on suite bathroom.  The bathroom has a water closet as well as separate shower and soaker tub.  It also has nice double sinks which is important to us.

At the top of the stairs is a nice bonus area that would be perfect for a separate family room or playroom.  It's a great space!

The second floor also has 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms.

3 of the upstairs bedrooms share 1 huge bathroom.

The 4th upstairs bedroom has its own on suite bath.

I really love the backyard space.  Sadly when they designed it, they took away most of the grass, but the house is located near some parks and green space, so it's not a huge deal (plus it's less grass to worry about mowing!)

So we're spending some time crunching numbers, but we're definitely thinking about putting in an offer on this house.
