I got this list from Very Good Taste and thought it was interested.
Here's the directions:
Below is a list of 100 things that I think every good omnivore should have tried at least once in their life. The list includes fine food, strange food, everyday food and even some pretty bad food – but a good omnivore should really try it all. Don’t worry if you haven’t, mind you; neither have I, though I’ll be sure to work on it. Don’t worry if you don’t recognise everything in the hundred, either; Wikipedia has the answers.
Here’s what I want you to do:
1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.

I know this is hard to believe, but oxtail really isn't that bad. I had to try it last summer for an internship that I was doing and was totally afraid that it would be disgusting. When prepared correctly it actually tastes very good. Now I will probably never eat it again as I would rather just eat a good steak!
ReplyDeleteI did it. Some very interesting items on this menu!!

Thanks Ashley, Im borrowing this for my blog too. It sure is an interesting list.
ReplyDeleteDon't discount head cheese just yet! My fiance finally convinced me to try some on a sandwich about a month ago and I'm seriously craving more already. It tastes like high-end deli meat (think Boar's Head) with a bit of extra salt. It's actually much better for you than most deli meats because it's not full of nitrates and preservative chemicals. Just think of it as being non-ground and shaped/smushed deli meat. Instead it's just smushed and well not full of chemicals.
